Insituform Senior Management Team Members

J. Joseph "Joe" Burgess, President and Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Burgess has over 25 years experience in the water, energy, and petrochemical industries.  He most recently served as Chief Executive Officer of Veolia Water North America, a subsidiary of the French company Veolia Environnement SA.  He worked previously with Ogden Projects (later renamed Covanta), a subsidiary of Ogden Corporation, a diversified holding company, and Monsanto Company, an agricultural biotechnology corporation.

David A. Martin, Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Martin has served as Vice President and Controller since January 2006. Prior thereto, Mr. Martin served as Insituform's Corporate Controller for two years, following two and one-half years as controller of the Company's European operations. Mr. Martin joined Insituform in 1993 from BDO Seidman, LLP, where he was a senior accountant.

David F. Morris, Senior Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer. Mr. Morris joined Insituform as Vice President, General Counsel, and Secretary in January 2005. He was promoted to Senior Vice President in April 2007. From March 1993 until January 2005, Mr. Morris was with the law firm of Thompson Coburn LLP, St. Louis, Missouri, most recently as a partner in its corporate and securities practice areas. Mr. Morris also served as Senior Vice President, Associate General Counsel and Secretary of Unified Financial Services, Inc., a diversified financial services company, from December 1999 to March 2004.

Charles “Chuck” Voltz, Senior Vice President, North American Rehabilitation (NAR). Mr. Voltz came to Insituform from Veolia Water North America - West LLC, where he had served as its President since 2007. Mr. Voltz heads up contracting and NAR services for Insituform. He earned a BS degree from Pennsylvania State University in Water Resources Engineering and his MBA in Environmental Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh. Mr. Voltz is a licensed professional engineer and has over 30 years experience providing expert technical support to water, wastewater, engineering and construction projects nationwide.

Alex Buehler, Vice President, Europe. Mr. Buehler currently leads European operations including manufacturing, business development, distribution, robotics, wet out, and contracting services. With Insituform since 2004, his background includes five years in the United States Army Corps of Engineers where he led large-scale construction programs in support of NATO and the U.S. Army Europe. Mr. Buehler completed his MBA at The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and holds a degree in Civil Engineering from West Point.

Daniel Cowan, Vice President, Asia-Pacific. Mr. Cowan joined Insituform in 2006 as Special Assistant to the CEO and served as Vice President of Strategic Business Initiatives. In his present role, Mr. Cowan is in charge of international expansion, development and growth in Asia-Pacific.  Mr. Cowan holds a Bachelor of Arts in East Asian Studies from Davidson College and an MBA from Duke University. He has also completed intensive study in Chinese from Georgetown University. Before coming to Insituform, Dan was co-founder, Chairman and CEO of E-Commerce and Trade Services in Hong Kong – the largest non-bank international payment insourcing operation. Prior to that, he worked as an international strategy consultant at First Union National Bank based in Hong Kong where he helped manage its Global Trade Services division and led its business-to-business strategy task force.

Dorwin Hawn, Senior Vice President, Energy & Mining.  Mr. Hawn has over 35 years of experience in the industrial pipeline rehabilitation industry and over 15 years of engineering experience as both an engineering manager and a pipeline engineer. Mr. Hawn has a Bachelor of Science in Metallurgical Engineering and is a certified P.E. in Canada.

Holly Sharp, Vice President, Human Resources & Environmental, Health, and Safety. Ms. Sharp joined Insituform in September, 2004 as Director of Human Resources for the Affholder Tunneling division. In 2007, she was promoted to Senior Director for Human Resources and Environmental, Health and Safety for Insituform. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Penn State and a Master of Human Resources from the Keller Graduate School of Management. Prior to joining Insituform, Ms. Sharp was the Director of Labor Relations for Rental Service Corporations, a North American construction rental company.

Jerry Eugene Shea Jr., President, The Bayou Companies, Inc. Mr. Shea has been with Bayou for 33 years. He has served in a variety of positions including President of Bayou Management Services Inc. and Vice President of Sales for Bayou Pipe Coating Company. Professionally, Mr. Shea twice served as the President of the National Association of Pipe Coating Applicators (NAPCA) and was on its Board of Trustees for ten years. In 2008, he was inducted into the NAPCA Hall of Fame. He previously served as Vice President of Associate Members for the Offshore Pipeline Contractors of America. Mr. Shea earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Petroleum Engineering and an MBA from Louisiana State University.
