Insituform Greets Runners from Global Clean Water Team with St. Louis Tap Water
With icy bottles of St. Louis tap water, Insituform Technologies, Inc. greeted the Blue Planet runners on August 20, 2007 as they passed under the Gateway Arch on their way to New York City and completion of their around-the-world run for clean water. St. Louis tap water was recently ranked #1 in taste by mayors across the United States.
Insituform, a global clean water company and the world’s leader in no-dig pipeline rehabilitation, was a sponsor for the official reception at Keiner Plaza in Downtown St. Louis to greet the runners before they crossed the Mississippi River on their eastward route to Chicago and then to New York City on Sept. 4. Insituform emphasized the global crisis in clean water by refreshing the runners with clean tap water in refillable bottles rather than expensive, unnecessary bottled water in environmentally harmful, plastic, disposable bottles.
“As a global clean water company, we are dedicated to the same goals of enabling clean water for the world as the Blue Planet Run Foundation is,” said Insituform Interim CEO Al Woods. “We’re proud to participate in the Blue Planet Run. Clean, safe water is indeed an increasingly important international issue, and we hope this run focuses everyone’s attention on addressing this growing crisis before it becomes a catastrophe.”
