NEW CLARK COUNTY, NEVADA CONTRACT BRINGS TOTAL AWARDS TO INSITUFORM TO MORE THAN $24 MILLION IN 2009
Insituform to Perform Sewer Pipe Rehabilitation Without Disruption to County Neighborhoods and Businesses
CHESTERFIELD, MO, July 16, 2009 – Insituform Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq Global Select Market: INSU) announced the Clark County Water Reclamation District in Nevada has awarded an additional $6.8 million contract to Insituform for sewer pipe rehabilitation. In total, Clark County has awarded Insituform, a pre-qualified contractor, more than $24 million in contracts so far in 2009. Insituform’s cured-in-place (CIPP) technology rehabilitates sanitary sewers, storm sewers and force mains without the need for digging.
Insituform will begin work on this project in August 2009 and will rehabilitate approximately 26,000 feet of 27-inch and 30-inch diameter aging sewer pipes. The project, which is part of Clark County’s five-year plan to rehabilitate all its large-diameter sewer pipelines, is expected to be completed by August 2010. Since 2005, Insituform has rehabilitated more than 43 miles of sewer pipeline in Clark County with minimal disruption to homes and businesses.
The Insituform® CIPP process is Insituform’s core technology and is an affordable solution used to reduce infiltration, restore structural integrity and increase flow capacity. Insituform® CIPP is a jointless pipe-within-a-pipe with the capability to rehabilitate pipes ranging in diameter from six to 96 inches.
“We appreciate the opportunity to continue our work with the Clark County Water Reclamation District as they rehabilitate their sewer system,” said Joe Lane, General Manager for Insituform’s West Region. “By using Insituform® CIPP, Clark County has been able to upgrade their system at a lower cost and with less disruption to citizens and businesses than if they had used traditional dig and replace methods,” Lane continued. “It’s truly the most efficient and low-cost way to upgrade your sewer system.”
